Ms. Ramila Gandhi – President
Ramilaben was born in an eminent family of Patan, Gujarat and completed her graduation in Arts. Influenced by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, Vinobaji & Sri Aurobindo, she chose to dedicate her life towards the welfare of society. She is a Founder Director at Yoganjali Kelvani Mandal and is also Chairperson of Sexual Harassment committee of Patan district and Trustee of Mehsana district Women’s Group. She has been honoured a number of awards for her noteworthy contribution in the field of social development. Well in her eighties, she is active in all the activities pertaining to the upliftment of rural children and women.
Dr. Jharna Pathak – Secretary
An academician by profession, Dr Pathak is an Assistant Professor at Gujarat Institute of Development Research (GIDR), Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Her major areas of research include institutions and policies with a special focus on agriculture, water and fisheries. She has presented papers at a number of academic seminars and conferences and has been feted with an award of Best Paper Presenter by the GAD Institute of Development Studies, Amritsar in 2010. As a Trustee at AWAG since 2014, Dr Pathak has participated in various Forums and Networks on the issue of gender equality and justice.
Ms. Nalini Trivedi – Jt. Secretary
A retired Associate Professor and Head of Department of Sociology at Shri H.K. Arts College, Ahmedabad, Ms. Nalini Trivedi’s teaching experience at the under graduate and post graduate level spans over 35 years. As a social activist and Trainer her forte lies in Gender Sensitization and Awareness Workshops among Police, Health Workers, Officers, Counsellors and activists from NGOs. She has also participated in discussions and talk shows on various subjects on local television channels and has also conducted learning sessions in Sociology over the radio.
